Wyoming Filmmakers Showcase

A new series at the Natrona County Public Library will celebrate the diversity, talent and creative power that comes from our remarkable state. Beginning Monday, July 16 at 6 p.m., view 18 recently-produced films about Wyoming or produced by Wyoming artists during the Wyoming Filmmakers Showcase.

"People" is the theme of the July 16 showing which will feature the films "Wyoming Triumph," "Chance Phelps," "The Deer and the Antelope," "Absaroka," and "DREAM." The series will continue Mondays, July 23, 30 and August 6, each beginning at 6 p.m. in the library's Crawford Room. Call 577-READ ext. 2 for more information.

The Wyoming Filmmakers showcase was initiated by the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival and underwritten with a grant from the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund.



Heroes Vs. Villains: a Comic Book Party for Teens

Teens grades 7-12 are invited to a comic book party at the Natrona County Public Library Thursday, July 17 at 2 p.m. in the Crawford room. "Heroes Vs. Villains" is a chance to dress up as your favorite comic book character and enjoy superhero snacks and games.

Teens can sign up to participate in the summer reading program "Dream Big: Read" at any library branch May 29-July 28. Enjoy free events and earn prizes for reading. Summer Reading Programs at your library are for all ages, sponsored by the Natrona County Recreation Joint Powers Board, McDonalds, and Sam's Club



Canning & Preserving 101

Would you like to learn to preserve food at home for future use? Learn about canning and other methods of food preservation at your Natrona County Public Library, Saturday, July 21 at 2 p.m. in the Crawford room. Natrona County Cent$ible Nutrition Program Coordinator Karla Case will present this informative workshop an canning, drying and freezing your harvest. Call 577-READ ext. 2 for more information.



Family Movie Night at the Library

Family Movie Night will be held at the Natrona County Public Library Tuesday, July 24, at 6:30 p.m. in the Crawford room. Monthly Family Nights include family-friendly activities and dinner provided by the Friends of the Library. This month's event will feature the movie "Bambi II" Both families and individuals are welcome to attend. NCPL is committed to offering programs that strengthen families and our community. Songwriting 101

The library's summer reading programs are all about following your dreams. If your dream is to write and perform your own music, you're in luck! Songwriting 101 will be presented at the Natrona County Public Library Thursday, July 26 at 6 p.m. Learn about songwriting and creativity from noted songwriter Kerry Grombacher, whose work has been covered by western recording artists including Gary Prescott, Trails & Rails, Duke Davis, The Texas Trailhands, and Earl Gleason.

Nalini Jones of the Newsport Folk Festival said, "Kerry Grombacher is the best kind of songwriter, with lyrics that take us on journeys to places we've never visited before, and melodies so pure and true that they seem to rise up from the plains." Summer Reading Ends: Last Day for Prizes

Summer Reading programs at the Natrona County Public Library end Saturday, July 28. Kids, teens and adults who have been logging books read or time spent reading should return their reading logs to any library branch to receive prizes and be entered into drawings. The children's and teens' grand prizes will be awarded at the "Summer Movie" Wednesday, August 1 at 2 p.m. Adults who win prizes will be notified by phone after July 31.

Summer reading programs at your library are sponsored by the Natrona County Recreation Joint Powers Board, Sam's Club and McDonalds.



PotterFest for Teens

Potterfest will be held for teens (grades 7-12) at the Natrona County Public Library, Tuesday, July 31 from Noon-5 p.m. in the Crawford room. Celebrate Harry's birthday with a marathon showing of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" parts 1 and 2. Films are rated PG-13. Pizza will be provided by the Friends of the Library. Call 577-READ ext. 101 for more information on this free event for teens at your library.
