Parenting Outdoors: Nature as Inspiration and Lesson
Did you know it is important for children to spend time outdoors? Learn how to use outdoor activities to help your child learn and grow with Wanda Peters, Nature Center Supervisor at the Audubon Center at Garden Creek. An interactive workshop "Parenting Outdoors: Nature as Inspiration and Lesson" will be presented Monday, May 21 at 6 p.m. in the Natrona County Public Library's Crawford room. Learn about resources for outdoor learning, the importance of engaging children with nature, and how to make something as simple as a walk down a city block fun and interesting for kids. Family Game Night: Uno
Family Game Night at the library will feature "Uno" on Tuesday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Crawford room. Dinner will be provided by the Friends of the Library. Both families and individuals are welcome to participate. NCPL is committed to offering programs that strengthen families and our community. For more information about this event, please call 577-READ ext. 2.
Summer Reading Kickoff Lunch
School is out and summer is beginning – start the season right by signing up for Summer Reading programs at your library! To help kick off Summer Reading, the Friends of the Library will serve a free hotdog lunch to library patrons Tuesday, May 29 starting at 11:30 a.m. at the main library in downtown Casper, and also at the Mills branch library. A hotdog lunch will be served at the Edgerton branch library on Wednesday, May 30 at 11:30 a.m. Join us for food, fun, and a celebration of reading! Food for these events is provided by Sam's Club.
Summer reading is an important way for kids to keep from losing their school-year learning during the summer. Sign up to participate at any library branch May 29-July 28 and enjoy free family events and earn prizes for reading. Summer Reading at your library is for all ages, and is sponsored by the Natrona County Recreation Joint Powers Board, McDonalds, and Sam's Club.
