Natrona County Public Library offers basic computer classes monthly to help you navigate the computer, the internet, and basic programs such as Microsoft Word. Additional classes are given periodically on topics like downloading audio and video, using EBay and genealogy. All classes are held in the Tech Center at the main library in downtown Casper. Please stop by the library's Reference Desk or call 577-READ ext. 2 to learn more about these free classes.
Classes for February 2012
Intro to Google class will be held Monday, February 13 from 2-4 p.m.
Intro to Internet class will be held Wednesday, February 15 from 2-4 p.m.
Intro to Word class will be held Thursday, February 23 from 9-11 a.m.
Job Search Skills class will be held Friday, February 24 3-5 p.m.
Income Tax Assistance @ your Library
Could you use some help with your income tax return? IRS-certified volunteers will help you complete and e-file your tax return at the Natrona County Public Library each Friday now through April 13. Help will be offered for free on a first come, first served basis for lower income families ($49,000 and below), seniors and students.
Those wishing to receive assistance should bring any tax documents received for 2011, social security card for identification and last year's tax return. Assistance is provided by the Wyoming Free Tax Service in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service. Paper tax forms will also be available at the library for those wishing to complete tax returns on their own. For more information about this free program at your library, call 577-READ ext 2.
Zombie Cupcake Battle
Teens are invited to the library for a Zombie Apocalypse-inspired cupcake contest! The "Zombie Cupcake Battle" will be held at the Natrona County Public Library, Saturday, February 11 at 2 p.m. Each team of students (grades 7-12) will have one hour to assemble a cupcake creation using the supplies provided. Those who wish to compete should sign their team up in advance at the Teen Zone desk or by calling 577-READ ext. 101. Spectators are welcome!
Do you enjoy reading or writing poetry? The "Poetry Box" discussion group will meet at the library Friday, February 17 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss published and original poems and do creative exercises for poetry writing. New members are always welcome. Call 577-READ ext. 2 for more information.
