Craft of the Toymaker: Lloyd Nelson's Toys
You may have noticed the colorful toys lined up in the library display windows this month. They were made by Lloyd Nelson, a mechanical engineer who held 27 patents related to high-speed food processing machinery. Upon retirement, he applied his mechanical skills to designing toys, some of which won national woodworking awards!
Learn more about this mechanical genius and toymaker on Wednesday, September 21 at 6:30pm in the Crawford Room. Lloyd's toys will be on display through September 30, viewable during regular library hours. Call 577-READ for more information.
Doing the Right Thing: An Exploration of Ethics
What roles do ethics play in our lives, families, our schools, our society? What is the impact when ethics are lost? The Natrona County Public Library will be showing the national webcast, "Doing the Right Thing: An Exploration of Ethics" Saturday, September 24 from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Crawford room.
The webcast will feature distinguished speakers Dr. Robert George, Eric Metaxas, Michael Miller, Chuck Colson, and Del Tackett, as they discuss in-depth America's ethical state, why it matters, and what can be done to improve it.
The event is free and open to the public, with snacks provided by the Friends of the Library. Space is limited to 125 people, so please reserve your seat by calling 577-READ extension 2.
Family Movie Night
Family Movie Night at the library will feature "Rango" on Tuesday, September 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Natrona County Public Library. Dinner will be provided by the Friends of the Library. Both families and individuals are welcome to participate. NCPL is committed to offering programs that strengthen families and our community.
