At the corner of A Street and Jackson there is a beautifully quaint business which must have a magic door. You see, as soon as you step inside The Herbal Remedies Store, you are taken back to a time when things were simpler-a time of family business, natural ingredients, and super friendly customer service. You will see people at the counter pouring over books with employees and chatting about health and life and everyone including the man who delivers packages is greeted by name with a wave and a smile.

Aubree Unterseher started The Herbal Remedies Store with her husband, Jeremiah, and his parents in April of 2009. They dedicated themselves to selling products containing only natural ingredients and they started with almost empty shelves. Why? Because they were also highly dedicated to customer service and wanted to fill the store with patrons' requests.

Customer service is the quality that sets this store apart from others. The Untersehers love their customers and enjoy building relationships and friendships with them. "We know our customers' children's names," says Aubree. "We are your neighborhood health store." Aubree knows that keeping prices low is key to this philosophy and says they are, "willing to make a smaller margin to help people afford to be able to be healthy."

Now their shelves are full of natural products and remedies for just about anything you could think of. There are vitamins and supplements, products for body care and baby care, aroma therapy and weight loss aides, candles and body scrubs. Plus there are many whole and gluten-free products such as farm-fresh eggs, baking goods, salad dressings, and snacks. And if by chance, you don't see what you need, Aubree will order it for you and call you personally when it arrives.

Aubree says The Herbal Remedies Store is a small place where big things are happening. In order to accommodate for more customer requests, they will soon be acquiring a commercial size refrigerator case. She also wants to continue to grow by getting more food such as fresh, organic produce from local farmers and more gluten free cosmetics and skin care products.

Maybe you're not sure what you need for what ails you. The Herbal Remedies Store can help with that too. They have a wealth of literature for sale, for free, and for checking out to bring back later. Aubree says she wants the store to feel "like going to Grandma's house" where you can feel comfortable and get the information you need.

So, if you're ready to step through the magic door to a time and place reminiscent of Mayberry, stop by at 902 East A Street (across from Bosco's) Monday-Friday between 10 and 5 or on Saturdays from 10 to 2. You can also call them at 307-577-6444 to make a special order. You may just pick up some healthy products and make some new friends.
