07/01/2006 - "Our vision/heartbeat is to create a place where people from all walks of life will come and be healed, restored, refreshed and made strong...a place of refuge...a place of strength," says Matthew Pollock, Senior Pastor of Strong Tower Family Church. "No matter where you've been or what you've done, you're welcome here," he continues. "You're never out of the reach of God's outstretched arms of love."

The church held it's first worship service on Sunday, September 26, 2004. Pastors Matthew and Abby Pollock moved to Casper from California with a call on their hearts to meet the needs of the people of Casper.

The Pollocks have three children [Talon (8), Kaleb (3) and Hope (15 months)] and are expecting their fourth child in January of 2007. They enjoy the family oriented, slow paced, "community of quietness" as well as the beautiful scenery and open spaces of Casper and the surrounding region.

Strong Tower Family Church is a "nondenominational Word-based church" emphasizing the "fullness and power of God's Word" which is "taught without compromise". Matthew Pollock describes his church as "relevant, relational, revolutionary" and a "place of demonstration where healing services are held." It is a thriving, growing church with a family atmosphere ministering to all ages.

The church was originally going to be called Steps of Faith Christian Church. One night as Pastor Matthew was tucking his four-year-old son into bed, he chose a scripture to read aloud as is his custom. That particular evening he read Proverbs 18:10, "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." (NKJV) He knew right then and there that he was to call the church Strong Tower Family Church.

"At Strong Tower Family Church we believe in making children a priority. We have children's church for all ages because we know how much our Father loves them and desires us to teach and train them in an atmosphere of love and acceptance. It is a privilege to have that responsibility," Abby Pollock explains. "As pastors we want to lead by example, which means being transparent to the people," she continues, "Our ministry is about YOU, THE PEOPLE, helping them, directing them and teaching them the uncompromised Word."

Services are held on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. They have just moved to a new location at 4801 East 2nd Street, Suite 106. Reach them at 232-8353 and visit them on the web at www.strongtowerfamilychurch.com.
