Shaelynn (11) attends Crest Hill Elementary and is also the Student Body President there. When asked what kind of things she enjoys doing most, she told us that ice skating is her very favorite pastime, but she also enjoys things like snowboarding, dancing, and playing violin. "The reason that I like Casper most is because there aren't too many people," says Shaelynn.
Tailor (9), like her sister, tells us that ice skating is also one of her favorite things to do, but she also loves horses and has been taking riding lessons for three years. Both girls took two years of dance and Tailor tells us, "Dance is really what got us started ice skating." Tailor goes to Crest Hill and is Student Body Secretary. When asked what she likes best about Casper, Tailor smiled and said, "I like the snow!"
The girls have been actively involved in helping out around the community, doing things like serving as volunteers for the Crossroads Park, violin caroling at the Poplar Living Center, and bringing home-made cookies to the Poplar Living Center.
Becky Sondag, Shaelynn and Tailor's mother, came within 4 seconds of qualifying for the Olympic marathon trials. Following in her footsteps, Shaelynn was able to run with the cross country team from Dean Morgan this year.
Thank you girls for taking part in our community and being such "cool kids"!
