Here and Now
by Tami Watts
11/01/2005 - Though the grass may be greener some other place
And it could be lined with lovely Queen Anne's Lace,
I will not venture for I have made a vow
To live contentedly in the here and now.
To live in the present is a present from God,
No matter the condition of surrounding sod.
By looking at my children and how they're growing fast.
I'm reminded that this day soon will be the past.
Rather than wishing so much of my life away,
Or living in the future or living in yesterday,
I choose to take this moment and reflectively bow
To thank God for this contentment in the here and now.
