Around Our Town...If These Walls Could Talk
A Room to Cherish
09/01/2005 - Whether you live in a cozy apartment, a home, a cottage by the sea, or a lodge in the mountains, your room creates a lasting impression for all who enter. It tells your family and guests if you're formal and elegant or fun loving and laid back. It sets the mood for the home and should be a reflection of your personal taste.
A room can be arranged in many ways. For some, the space is formal and "perfect" at all times, to be entered and used only when guests come to call. To others, it serves as a comfortable family gathering place for watching TV, doing homework or visiting.
Regardless of what purpose your room serves, the fabrics, colors, furniture, and accessories should be what you love. Whether it's serene and neutral, colorful and lively, or something in between it should reflect your taste. After all, it's your room!!
Cherished Linens designed this room for Mrs. Hill. She had just moved to Casper and desired a new look in her master suite. She invited Lacy Peterson and Marci Brunette (owners of Cherished Linens) into her home to help her with her room They brought several different design books, duvets and comforters to help Mrs. Hill get a better idea as to what she would like in her master suite. After a few options, Mrs. Hill decided she wanted to go with black, cream, grey and red for her color choices. With her walls painted grey, she chose a beautiful grey comforter and shams with a hint of embroidered black flowers. Perfect for both Mr. and Mrs. Hill, this was not too overpowering for Mr. Hill and just the right feminine touch for her. Marci and Lacy accented the grey and black with touches of red, a fine Hamilton throw, two red Sanctuary pillows, and a fine lined black leather pillow. The rich painting above the bed was one that Mr. and Mrs. Hill already had, but was located in a different room. The colors were perfect for their master suite. Adding some black silk scarves and wonderful exotic round Terra Luna candles, brought this serene room together. This tranquil room is a reflection of Mr. and Mrs. Hill and now they can thoroughly enjoy it.
