11/01/2012 - Local Author To Sign Books

Local Author Carolyn Kulhavy will sign copies of her children's book "Charlie's Unforgettable Journey" at the Natrona County Public Library, Thursday, November 15 from 3-5 p.m.

Charlie is a bird who knows one day he will soar through the air. But his small size keeps him from realizing his dream. Encouraged by his mother, and his friend Hopper the grasshopper, Charlie soon finds his wings. Copies of the book will also be available to purchase. Call 577-READ ext. 2 for more information.

Choosing an eReader

Electronic books are becoming more and more popular, but how do you know which eBook Reader is right for you? A class on "Choosing an eReader" will be held at the Natrona County Public Library Friday, November 16 at 3 p.m. in the Crawford Room. Learn about the many different devices that are available and try several versions to see which features you prefer. Attendees will also learn about free library eBooks available to download. Bunco Night for Families

Family night at the Natrona County Public Library will feature "Bunco" on Tuesday, November 27, at 6:30 p.m. Both families and individuals (ages 8 and up) are welcome to participate. Prizes will be awarded, and no experience playing Bunco is necessary. Dinner is provided by the Friends of the Library.

Teens: Get a Job!

Need some extra cash? Teens can learn about the work world and what it takes to get a job, Monday, December 3 at 6 p.m. at the Natrona County Public Library. Students in grades 7-12 will learn about creating resumes, submitting applications, interviewing, and job resources available to them. This free workshop is presented by the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. A pizza dinner will be provided by the Friends of the Library. Call 577-READ ext. 101 for more information.

Let's Talk College: FAFSA Preparation

FAFSA deadlines are just around the corner. Learn more about this important application for student financial aid during "Let's Talk College: FAFSA Preparation," Monday, October 15, 6 p.m. at the Natrona County Public Library. Heather Webb from the UW/CC Educational Opportunities Center will outline the FAFSA process, information families will need to collect, and key deadlines of which students and parents should be aware. Gingerbread House Workshop

The Natrona County Public Library will hold a Gingerbread House Workshop for families on Sunday, December 9. The event is free, and building materials and decorations are provided. Families and individuals may stop by at their leisure between 2-4 p.m., and will be seated on a first come, first served basis (seating is limited to 50 people at a time).

Christmas Cards Workshop

A Christmas Cards workshop will be held Saturday, December 15 at 1 p.m. at the Natrona County Public Library. Learn holiday card design ideas and stamping techniques taught by Kay Capps. Please sign up in advance for this free workshop at 577-READ ext. 2. Supplies will be provided. For those who wish to learn more, your library also has a wide variety of books on paper crafts available for checkout.
